PRINCIPLES

The principles of the approach adopted in every case has been to work with the full participation of clients and partners in a process of open and self critical analysis of what are often complex situations. This would frequently involve the use of hard and soft systems thinking, a sensitivity to gender, the important contribution of different disciplines and the participation of many different actors and stakeholders in an iterative process. Data and information collection would involve a combination of both quantitative and qualitative methods The important objective behind this approach is to engage the clients in the process of analysis and the search for ways of improving situations through the harnessing of indigenous skills and experience.
